Build it in order
Step-by-step instructions
Read the entire plan before making the first cut or hole. The check under each step tells you when it is ready to move forward.

Choose a forgiving site
Use level, drained ground away from fences, gates, feeders and anything a goat could jump onto.

Build two base rectangles
Make two identical 48-inch square frames with a center joist using structural screws.
- 03
Add short legs
Join frames with short doubled legs so the finished deck is no higher than 12 inches.
- 04
Brace all directions
Add diagonal braces on each side to prevent sway and twisting.
- 05
Install the deck
Fasten a solid top with tiny drainage gaps, rounding edges and countersinking every screw.

Load-test before goats
On level ground, load the platform gradually with more weight than expected and inspect every joint.
Use and maintenance
Keep it useful
- Supervise first use and watch herd dynamics.
- Move or remove the platform if animals use it to challenge a fence.
- Inspect after storms and whenever wood stays wet.

Know when to stop
- This is a low enrichment platform, not an elevated livestock structure.
- Do not build from unknown pallet wood or thin scraps.
- If you cannot verify load capacity and bracing, use a commercially rated product or get qualified help.
