Measurements
Mark before cutting
- Stake depth: 8–12 inches
- Sleeve height: 12–18 inches
- Inside diameter: fits chosen stake loosely
- Corner offset: 3 inches outside bed edge
Build it in order
Step-by-step instructions
Read the entire plan before making the first cut or hole. The check under each step tells you when it is ready to move forward.

Trace the hose path
Pull the hose normally and mark corners where it drags across plants.

Check before staking
Locate irrigation tubing and utilities; keep the guide outside the bed.
- 03
Cut and smooth sleeves
Cut equal PVC pieces, deburr thoroughly and glue or press on rounded caps.
- 04
Drive the actual stakes
Drive purpose-made stakes to a stable depth, leaving the top below the cap.

Slide on sleeves
Place PVC over the stakes and add bright tape near the top.

Test the route
Pull a full wet hose around every guide and adjust positions.

- Check caps and UV damage each season.
- Use a hose reel to reduce total dragging.
