Build it in order
Read the entire plan before making the first cut or hole. The check under each step tells you when it is ready to move forward.
Lay hose or string around the proposed bed and walk every adjacent route.
Use Sunshine 811 and identify irrigation before even a shallow excavation.
Remove sod and soft organic material along the line.
Tamp a thin layer of paver base or coarse sand.
Place blocks end-to-end, checking level across and along the row.
Firm soil against both sides and mulch the bed without burying nearby trunks.
