Editorial Standards

DiamondTrail Ranch exists to document honest Florida homesteading and help small-acreage families make better-informed decisions. We distinguish what happened on our property from guidance researched elsewhere.

Firsthand and researched content

Firsthand claims must be supported by the family’s actual experience, photographs, records or owner confirmation. Researched facts should identify the responsible source. We prefer primary sources including UF/IFAS, USDA, FDA, CDC, FDACS, Florida agencies, county Extension, the National Weather Service and original manufacturer notices.

Fact checking and current events

Before a current article is published, we confirm the date, jurisdiction, affected product or population, responsible agency and what remains unknown. Recalls, disease, laws, emergencies and new family stories require owner review before publication. Developing articles carry an information-current date.

Original work and photographs

We do not copy competitor articles, reproduce copyrighted news photography or spin another article paragraph by paragraph. Ranch photographs are original unless a caption and source say otherwise. A neutral image is preferred over an unrelated photograph that implies ownership or firsthand involvement.

AI assistance

AI may help organize research, compare sources, draft outlines, edit writing, create metadata drafts and support code. It must not invent experience, quotations, sources, professional authority or documentary photographs; copy competitors; mass-produce thin pages; or publish unreviewed current facts. Publication gates in the project mark high-risk material for owner review.

Updates, corrections and commerce

Dates change only after a meaningful review. Corrections are handled under our Corrections and Updates Policy. Affiliate relationships are disclosed and must not turn an informational page into a disguised sales page.
